Confidentiality

Built around privilege and confidentiality

A practice's duty of confidentiality, and the privilege that attaches to legal advice, can be weakened by a careless IT setup. This is how we build your environment so client information stays with the people entitled to see it.

Least-privilege access

Each person reaches the matters, mailboxes and libraries their role needs. Access is granted through groups, so it is consistent and easy to review. When someone leaves or changes role, their access changes with them.

Administrator rights are the keys to everything, so they are kept to a small set of named accounts. Each one is listed in your documentation register.

MFA and Conditional Access

A password alone is not enough to sign in. MFA is enforced for every user through Conditional Access, and legacy authentication, which can bypass MFA, is blocked. Conditional Access can also require a managed, compliant device before client files open.

Encrypted devices and remote wipe

Laptops leave the office every day. Every managed device is encrypted through Intune, so a lost laptop does not mean lost client data. If one goes missing, we can wipe it remotely. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint P2 runs on each device, and a 24/7 cybersecurity remediation SOC watches the alerts.

Secure document sharing

Sending documents as attachments leaves copies everywhere. Sharing from SharePoint or OneDrive keeps one controlled copy: you choose who can open it, set an expiry and withdraw access when the matter closes.

Audit trails and the documentation register

Microsoft 365 audit logs record activity such as sign-ins and file access, kept for a period set by your licence. Our documentation register records the rest: every device and its lifecycle, admin accounts, licences and renewals, network, internet and phone details, backups and the last restore test, and every change we make. It is reviewed monthly and exported whenever you ask.

Backup an attacker cannot reach

Microsoft 365 data is backed up independently and held outside your tenant, so a compromised admin account cannot delete the copies. Restores are tested on a schedule.

What we do not claim

No IT setup makes a practice compliant by itself, and we do not certify compliance. The duty of confidentiality and decisions about privilege belong to you and your advisers. What we provide is a well-built environment and accurate records of how it is configured.

The free, read-only assessment shows who can reach what, how devices are protected and where the gaps are. The findings are yours either way.
